"Brittany is a genuinely compassionate and caring individual, who uses her company to help her community through donations and through her hiring practices. We've had Brittany as our agent for 5 years, and we've grown to know her family as well. They live locally, work locally, and invest locally, which I appreciate. State Farm is still a corporate insurer, so you will always have corporate policies, underwriting, and claims that are out of her direct control as an agent. But Brittany is professional, courteous, and open about it all - the good and the bad - rate hikes, how coverages do and don't work, and what discounts may be vs. will definitely be. Having worked in insurance for 6 years for a competitor, I understand how complicated it can be representing a national company with grace and kindness. "If I could leave a zero star review I 10000% would. I don’t leave many negative reviews because I know it hurts the integrity of the company. Please read this review in full before thinking about using Brittany Wells’ branch of State Farm. Brittany Wells is a rotten apple. Every company has them, she’s the one. You will see my fiancés review on here as well. It contains a lot of the same information just to validate my review. My fiancé and I started coverage (this coverage was in his name just incase she states that I was never a customer. I was.) with her when our original branch in Martinsville was closed. They switched us to her for our car insurance and our home owners insurance to another branch. Why it was split? We still do not know. We called the guy and he cancelled our home owners without any issue. We called Brittany in June to cancel our car insurance. $336 every month never was a month late. They said that our insurance had been cancelled. We got billed a couple of days later. We called, she said she needed a declaration page. We sent that in TWICE. Because a lady that worked there and talked to the first time left no notes and “lost” the page. Long story short, we have went back and forth with Brittney and her team about taking money out of our account. We just got it resolved today and had to call corporate to do that. Mind you, this started IN JUNE. Here we are, in October, still dealing with this same issue. She has stolen around $1600 from us. We have four children, one income, and not a total lifetime supply of money. Sometime between the months of June and October we figure out that my fiancés truck had NO coverage for the last year. Only my van. $336 for a VAN. We our over the ages of 25, no traffic violations, and never an accident that was our fault. It should’ve never been that high! But I digress. We switched companys. Our bill: full coverage everything is $150. This includes our two cars and homeowners. Do not, please do not, go through this branch. She will scam you if you try to leave. I honestly don’t understand how she lives with herself knowing that she took $1,600 from us and our four children. We won’t get that money back because it wasn’t officially “cancelled” until today. We were kind with her, understanding throughout this whole process. But enough is enough. Many of others have expressed the same concerns with her in her reviews. She comments back with the same things. “We see that you have never been a customer here.” Or the favorite “we never received the declarations page to cancel.” She is a scammer. She will scam you given the opportunity. Please please please take my word that she is a no good, non trustworthy person, and do not do business here. She honestly needs to be sued."

"This is the 1st NEGATIVE review I have EVER written. I called June 11th to cancel my policy as I was being charged DOUBLE what I am paying now. They said everything was taken care of. The next month, (June) I was billed. I called and they said sorry we will refund you the money it will be there in 30 days. In JULY, I get billed again. (Plus no reimbursement was received) I called and they said oh well we need proof that you have insurance. I sent them my declaration page, and called to confirm. “All Good” they said. AUGUST, I get billed AGAIN. I called, they said the underwriters didn’t accept the DECLERATION PAGE. I sent them the ENTIRE DOCUMENT. They said all good, they will take care of it. BUT, they can’t refund because the original lady who helped no longer works there and didn’t leave any notes documenting my cancelation. WHAT?!?! Now, I am scheduled to be billed for SEPTEMBER 15th. I called STATEFARM HQ and they canceled my billing (it was that easy to STOP the payment so I wouldn’t continue to get billed while everything else gets sorted.) Thankfully Brian R. was able to get me switched to a new branch to help me get everything canceled. Don’t trust these people. They will continuously raise your rates and then you want to cancel and they will continue to take your money and not help you!"

After reviewing your account we were waiting on your new proof of insurance to show effective dates for our cancellation to insure you didn’t have time without coverage. We have an open task for us to follow up since we still hadn’t received it at the time you left this review. I’m glad our corporate office was able to take care of your request for you though. I hope you can forgive this misunderstanding. "

"I have been with this particular office for a few years and have paid abundance amout each month. We had someone break into our car on 09/01/25 and called the insurance company. Now when we added the new car, I went into the office a d requested rental insurance be added. The lady at the desk ensured that it was added. When I made the claim, I was informed that it was not on there. Call this unprofessional, no consideration office and was told that we did not have the coverage and they would not assist or correct the error. So now, i am stuck paying the deductible and car rental. Definitely leaving this raggedy agency soon."

"Hi Mrs. Johnson. After looking into this further, you’re right, our office should have added rental car coverage on your policy at the time we started coverage. As we discussed over the phone I have let your claims adjuster know of our mistake and they have approved your rental car. Again I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. "Had this insurance and had no problems for months. However I was in an accident and reported it to them and they never sent in my proof of insurance so my license is pending suspension. Tried to call and even left messages with no response. Please don’t waste your time with this location."

"super defensive and doesn’t take accountability, as shown in her replies to negative reviews. After attempting three prior phone calls with no answer, Brittany picked up the call and eventually asked why I was cancelling, I told her I didn’t want to explain (limited time) and just wanted my policy cancelled. She pushed and said as the owner she asks these kind of questions. I gave a brief summary of my experience, again in a rush, and despite the faults of her own agency she decided to focus on the policy that I was unhappy with. I agreed the policy sucks, yet my issue was with the lack of communication and the almost 2 months it took to resolve the issue. We then get into my current issue and needing to cancel. I misheard a question and even said “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you” yet her response turned into “it sounds like you won’t be happy with anything I say.” Lol? What? I just wanted my policy cancelled while on a break, it took 4 attempts to get ahold of anyone, you pushed for a reasoning, and now you’re saying “I won’t be happy with anything you say”. I’d be happy if you had respected my wish to not talk more on an issue that occurred over a year ago and had went forward with cancelling. Can’t wait to read her response about all the other satisfied customers! It’s not about the other people you make happy, it’s about the accountability you take when you’ve been in the wrong. Your tone is terrible from the get go and being defensive isn’t it. Another reason I’m leaving the review is for proof of cancellation since last time I tried it on 2 months ! EDIT: received an email saying they haven’t received my payment. Good thing I learned from the last time I tried to cancel a policy and didn’t have my billing info updated. This was supposed to end July 15th."
